Who are the Hullabaloo Hoppers?

The Hullabaloo Hoppers, the Perth Swing Dance Society performance team, have been entertaining crowds since 2002. The team is comprised of a group of passionate swing dancers based here in Perth who are available to swing dance as it was done in the 1920s, 30s and 40s at your event.

The Perth Swing Dance Society have an affinity with the music, lifestyle, fashion and dance of the Swing era and the Hullabaloo Hoppers are ready to bring this to your event. They are available for festivals, outdoor concerts, corporate events, charity events, balls, work parties and private functions. We are also available for television, film and theatre performances.

The Hoppers have performed at hundreds of events over the years, including Lotterywest Summer Events, Lotterywest Ad, Telethon, Oz Concert, ‘The Shark Net’ TV series, Relay for Life, Festival of Perth, Melbourne Lindy Exchange, City of Perth, Postcards WA, Museum of WA and countless community festivals, charity events and private functions.

What We Can Offer

Social Dancing

The Hullabaloo Hoppers can dance socially (no set routines) to a swing band or our own swing tunes. In vintage attire, the Hullabaloo Hoppers are a great way of adding atmosphere to any event!

Floor Show

The Hullabaloo Hoppers have a large repertoire of choreographed routines that we combine into a floorshow that runs for approximately 10 minutes. Each floorshow showcases various dances from the swing era. We can perform single or multiple floorshows throughout your event. These floorshows are energetic and entertaining and a memorable feature of any occasion. Individual routines are approximately 3-4 minutes long each.

‘Big Apple’ Lesson

The Big Apple is a ‘call and response’ dance that is done in a large circle. It is fun, easy and suitable for all ages. The participants do not require a partner and no dance experience is needed. The Hullabaloo Hoppers gather the crowd and walk them through some fun and easy steps, and then everyone dances together with the guidance of the team. Our Big Apple lesson is a great way to get the crowd actively participating in your event or to encourage people onto the dance floor. The lesson is approximately 15-20 minutes long (10-15 minutes learning moves, followed by 5 minutes of dancing together to the music).

The team can combine any or all of the above for a single occasion, and we are able to tailor a performance to perfectly suit the mood, theme and scale of your event!
